Take your pick, anyone of these alone is enough....
Scientific laws show there was a start, and that start was from outside of nature that primed everything, the Laws of physics, matter, space, time, information and purpose.
Evidence shows the initial formation of everything had to be instantaneous and not gradual.
Evidence shows everything must have been designed.
Evidence shows nothing is being designed anew.
Evidence suggests everything is younger than promoted by secularism.
The moral law or ethical standards, in all of us. The universal sense that there are certain things that are absolutely right or wrong.
Moral law must be objective, it can’t be subjective. Objective implies there is a God.
"If God does not exist, everything is permitted" Fyodor Dostoevsky.
There is no rational justification for morality, if God does not exist.
If you follow naturalism to its logical consequences, you end up without the concepts of morality.
If you dismiss the existence of a transcendent God, you've got to find an alternative source for morality; either in raw biology, or genetics, or in the social dimension. This fails.
We have the curious idea that we should behave in a certain way and we know we do not behave in that way.
Theism and creationism are the default position of children until taught otherwise.
We see the world as cruel and unjust; this notion must come from our creator.
Hero worship seems innate in us all, a reverence for the great and good in society, much like we’re built to worship our Creator.
Morality is built into us at teh basic level by God Himself.
Chance coming together of chemical matter can’t have created our awareness, realisation and memory capabilities.
Love, hate, beauty, spirituality and so on, are all just chemical reactions?
It is not so much the fact there is beauty, but that we as human beings have a sense of it.
Mind and spirit nature. You cannot explain beauty or evil, creation or humanity, time or space, without God. The materialistic, atheistic explanation is emotionally, spiritually and above all intellectually inadequate.
Passion, emotion, purpose, music, art, writing, dance - come on!
There is a limit to our intelligence and ability to perceive, so any argument could be flawed. More so if the method of getting it is considered to have been random.
It has historical accuracy, on timelines, events, characters, places and coins, supported by secular authors and archaeological evidence.
It predicts future events with precision. Incredibly accurate and highly improbable predictions have come true.
Whilst the bible is not a book of science, it speaks accurately concerning many scientific phenomena or processes in the areas of: hydrology, geology, astronomy, meteorology, biology & physics.
Despite being made up of 66 “little” books, penned by 40 authors, from different countries with different languages, over at least 1600 years:
it is a consistent single story, the rescue of humanity (God made the universe, God will remake the universe, between which, humans rebelled against God, and God used an astonishing way to reconcile humans to Him, without losing their free will)
it has a consistent viewpoint throughout; God is just one, all-powerful, eternal and we should think of Him as both a loving parent and firm judge.
the New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed. The Old Testament is in the New Testament revealed. It is a progressive revelation of types, patterns, and prophecies fulfilled, beyond the wit of any single man to concoct.
People have died for it; you don’t do that for a story you made up.
Legends don’t have their heroes portrayed as flawed as the bible does. It has warts and all unassuming characters of history.
The witnesses cited for Jesus’ death and resurrection are not the reliable type you’d choose if you were making it up.
The consistency of the accounts of the Gospels.
Note taking methods and the periods before publications, allow for accuracy of accounts
Translations were meticulous and unanimously agreed (as well as Holy Spirit inspired)
The content was engineered as a message system, in anticipation of hostile jamming. Doctrines are not contained in a single chapter. Everything is diffused through the message. If you take out a book or page, all is not lost.
Across these books, from multiple authors, over thousands of years, are hidden number sequences (numerology, micro-codes, macro-codes), throughout, that have high levels of improbability.
You couldn’t make it up, but it makes sense of it all. It rings true and is addictive.
It has sold more than any other book in history.
All of which suggests that God himself was prompting and guiding what was written.
My own experiences of “hearing” from God (simple powerful thoughts – words – certainly not my own, accompanied by intense emotion) and happenings in my life.
The accounts of the experiences of others hearing from God and His impact on their lives.
The Church, the people of Christ, who I’ve seen changed and are acting well.
Miracles, or astronomical coincidences, too many of them and too phenomenal to write off.
The mere existence of religion and the number of humans involved.
The icing on the cake, no THE cake, the Cook and the Kitchen!
Our faith is in a person, not the unseen.
He wasn’t just a nice chap; He left no way of thinking such nonsense. He was a lunatic, a liar (so evil) or Lord.
Going through a long line of prophets, God has been addressing our ancestors in different ways for centuries. Recently He spoke to us directly through His Son. By His Son, God created the world in the beginning, and it will all belong to the Son at the end. This Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God’s nature. He holds everything together by His powerful words! Heb 1:1-3
We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. Col 1:15-18
All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in Christ. Col 2:3
We received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. We’re deeply rooted in him. We’re well constructed upon him. We know our way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving Col 2:7
Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings. But that’s not the way of Christ. Everything of God gets expressed in him, so you can see and hear him clearly. You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything. Col 2:8-10.
He cannot be bought or earnt; He simply comes as a free gift to all who would receive Him.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Everything was created through him; nothing, not one thing, came into being without Him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out. The Life-Light was the real thing: Every person entering Life he brings into Light. He was in the world, the world was there through him, and yet the world didn’t even notice. He came to his own people, but they didn’t want him. But whoever did want him, who believed he was who he claimed and would do what he said, He made to be their true selves, their child-of-God selves. These are the God-begotten, not blood-begotten, not flesh-begotten, not sex-begotten. John 1:1-5 and 9-13
